      Sorry this has been discontinued

Comments about Lillian Vernon Personalized Garment Bags:

I've purchased several of these bags in three different sizes over the years. They are great for protecting clothes from dust while storing in the closet. They also have been useful for protecting garments during car travel. I especially like the nylon fabric since it protects clothes from dust while letting them breathe--since the nylon allows some air flow. I felt they were a good price for the quality and for the purpose for which I was using them. I keep checking back on this site to see if they have been re-ordered, and was very disappointed to see that they apparently have been discontinued. It appears they have been replaced with polyester garment bags--rather than nylon. I hope they will be available again at some future time. In the meantime, I probably will be looking for some nylon fabric or other breathable fabric and be making my own garment bags.

We've given the garment bags as gifts over the years - great for graduating students and men (always hard to shop for!) We have also loved using ours. It was durable, heavy nylon. Unfortunately our bag disappeared; I was anxious to replace it as we travel often. Too bad I wasn't quicker.

Lillian Vernon Response: We will be getting these back towards the end of December.

I love it for transposting clothes to college or for car travel. However, with the thread color NOT matching the trim color of the garmet bag the monogramming and product looks cheap. Trim color and monogram color should ALWAYS match!! The blue garmet bag looks 100% better because of the matching thread and trim.

      Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Personalized Garment Bags:

I was very disappointed in the product. I had seen a friends bag and she told me she got it from you years ago. Her bag was more durable and the letters were embroderied in. The letters are really cheap and I will probably not use the bags at all as I had bought them to go to Hospital conferences. I did not realize that there were two bags so guess that was why the price was so cheap. Also when lettering, the last name initial should go in the middle and larger than the first and middle name. Would not recommend this product to any of my friends.

Several years ago, I ordered garment bags from Lillian Vernon. They were beautifiully monogrammed (the real kind), and I was so pleased. The news one have tacky, white stamped on initials. I got the red/gold 60" for my formal gown overflow when traveling. The press on initials don't offend, however, this is thinner gauge than my trusty DAR 60" garment bag that cost a little more. I'll feel better recommending this after I see how it holds up. It's better than a cleaner's bag!

Unfortunately, the monogramming is SO AWFUL that I have to send the bags back. In the past the monogram was embroidered on. These bags look like the monogram was ironed on in white paint! SIMPLY AWFUL! If you want a great garment bag, I would suggest you purchase this WITHOUT the MONOGRAM!

I had purchased this same bag a few years earlier for when I needed to transport hangups in the car on road trips. Worked so well and was so reasonably priced that I decided to buy a couple more for closet storage. I ordered it monogrammed as before, but this time instead of tasteful embroidery with matching thread, I get iron-on initials in white. Too bad I can't return personalized items - these look tacky. I would have paid more for embroidery, or ordered them plain.

This product will last many years. I had one previously but had to change the monogram since I remarried. It is nice to use when you are in a swanky hotel so everyone thinks you are "someone special"
