I ordered these not realizing they weren't made for wire shelves. I was SO disappointed as I really wanted them to separate/organize my many purses. I asked my husband if he could get them to work and he did. He mounted a piece of wood under my wire shelving so the dividers would fit and they work just great!!
These do not work on wire shelves at all. I was sooooo disappointe but I'm sure it works very well on woodd as shown in the pic. lol i guess I should hve paid more attention to the photo.

I'm ordering a second set because although they've got all the cons mentioned above, they do the job if you're careful. They're cheaper than anywhere else on the internet.
Never got an email confirmation of my order or an email with shipping confirmation. I only remembered my order when I saw the charge on my credit card and then called Lillian Vernon to ask about it. It arrived about 3 weeks after I ordered it.

I got these four dividers (there is no bottom to hold it together - it relies on you not knocking it over) for my closet as you see in the picture; however; if you look closely at the picture this item is not attached to the wire hooks that are normally at the top of the hanging rods in apartments (as you know it is thin wiring) I thought I could use it on a shelf 3/4 thick but, the thickness of the shelf wasn't enough to hold the dividers up and they fell down here as well. The hooks are not bendable to fit the size in which you want the dividers to stand. So frustrating!

These are not durable and do NOT stay in place. I, too, think I'll be returning them.
I just added these dividers to my closet and they worked out great. Just make sure you have box/cardboard handy so they stay in place.

These do not fit shelves as pictured. My shelves are like the ones in the picture--they don't fit. I would need to stack stuff on the shelves to hold these shelf dividers up--not what I was interested in purchasing. :(
Since "I am not completely happy" with this product, I will be returning it after the Christmas rush.

The quality was way below the standards I have grown accustom to here at [...]. I use a great deal of her items from the baby's to old folks and holidays - well, most anything I can find here but these were well below par in all ways. I was very disappointed to have to toss 2, keep 2 bad fitting ones and wouldn't buy again or suggest to my loved ones.

From previous reviews i didn't expect them to fit to my shelves like a glove, and they don't. But with a little inconspicuous cardboard to tighten them up to the shelves they are good to go and work perfect!

These dividers are great. I have them in every closet in the house, they save space and are truly great quality at a decent very decent price. I would recommend them to everyone. My only wish is that they would go back farther or make them adjustable for deep closets. Otherwise I am a happy consumer.

Very disappointed. They don't fit my shelves and basically don't keep sweaters/pants any more organized with them. As others have said, the photo and discription paint a different story of this product.I was excited when I ordered the them since it would make my closet organized.
At first I thought that it was just me figuring out how to use them. But from what I have read, it has happened to everyone. I wish that I had taken the time and returned them, right now they are hanging on by a thread, literally.

My closet shelves are too thin and narrow for a good fit. I love the concept though and will make them work!

These are a must for any closet! They transformed my closet. My husband was a little leary of the purchase; however, he used his four and said, "let's order more for the other closets in the house," so we did! One downside is on the wire closet shelves, they do not fasten completely and will wobble somewhat. They are better on boards; however, we put down box tops cut to fit on the shelves and then they do have a better fit.

I was dissapointed by the product. It looked great on the picture, but doesnt fit the standard shelf in my closet. Sadly, it cannot be adjusted and does not stay in place.

These are great! They transformed a messy linen closet into nice neat stacks. Easy to install. Only downside is they didn't fit my daughter's closet shelf - it was too thin and they tip over.

My shelf isn't thick enought for the divider to grip onto, but even if it was I still don't think it would stand up straight. It does give the closet a neater appearance so I'm happy with the purchase.

I have looked everywhere for this type of item and was thrilled to find it. However, this item does NOT work with shelves made of the same 'coated wire' material. Description in catalogue should be more informative.
The idea behind these is great, but it's hard to make a product to fit all shelves. I had to bend the hooks to make the dividers stand up straight because they didn't fit tightly onto my shelf.

These dividers are sturdy and attractive. BUT, they do not stand up straight; you cannot slide them all the way in and hence, they tip at an angle. It's very disappointing, and I can't understand why they are not made to fasten snugly onto the shelf.
I am SOOOO disappointed in this product!! I searched all over the internet and these were the tallest dividers I could find. And the price couldn't be beat. But as many have stated, they won't clamp my shelf tightly enough. I also tried bending the clamp area tighter and no luck. I even considered buying a thin piece of plywood and attaching it to the bottom of my wood shelf to make it thicker so these things could clamp on better. That's when I realized I really need to return these. I'm really disappointed because these looked like the best ones out there.

A bit dissapointed that they don't stand upright when placed on the shelf. The look doesn't appear as clean and organized as photographed.

My closet shelf is only 10" deep, not deep enough to make the shelf dividers stand up. Hard to know whether the product works as promised because it doesn't fit (my tract home was built five years ago, and all the closet shelves in the tract are the same).

If your shelf isn't 12" deep, then it's very difficult to use this product. Great idea, but hard to say if it will clip onto shelf if the shelf isn't the right size.

I had such hig hopes after reading all the positive reviews. But, these dividers didn't work for me. The bottom part that slides onto the shelf is way too big for my wooden shelf. I didn't measure my shelf space before ordering, and I only have an 11 1/2" space, not 12" that these measure. My fault!

Some of the dividers were fine, but on others the channel for the shelf was larger than other - making the divider unsteady. I tried to bend them back but they stayed loose. They are being used but have to lean up against what they are "dividing".

I really like the concept and design of this product. Unfortunately the deviders are to tall and deep for my shelving. They are not tight fitting to the shelf and wobble. I will be returning this product.

I am very disappointed with these shelf dividers. They are not sturdy as they look in the picture. What is the point of getting something that you have keep maintaining half of the time. I wouldnt recommend this product.

Unfortunately, all closet shelves in my house are wire shelving similar to the dividers themselves. The fasteners were too large to grab the shelves, resulting in floppy dividers.

My closet is oragnize but the dividers don't lock in to place straight and need what ever object to hold it in place. I am a bit disappointed.

I like them. They are not as durable as I was expecting. I use them in a linen closet. When we put clean towels away, they tend to slide over and don't stay in place. I may have my husband think of a way to bolt them down. It looks like that would be easy to do. I am still using them and they really do help keep things organized. My family and I just don't throw things in the closet anymore.

I love these dividers. I bought them to divide up my purses. I keep two sections free for the current purses I am using. I pile the rest of the purses up in the other two sections. Now they don't fall off the shelf anymore. And my current purse is off the floor in it's own section.

This shelf organizer was useful in keeping my closet tidy. I was able to easily stack sweaters, shirts and shorts.

This product is reasonably priced and organizes your closet shelves in a few seconds! However, while two of the dividers fit snuggly on my shelf, the other two do not. I tried to bend the metal upwards, but it still is somewhat loose.

I have a ton of jeans and sweaters, these dividers make organizing and seperating them so easy.
bought the shelf dividers to help organize our closets. they were exactly what we needed!
I always had a problem with wrinkles in thin sweater or how to keep all my sweaters out of drawers so I could decide what to wear. The problem was, I never had enough room or I would make a stack & it would fall over. Now I have the room on my shelves for 4 stacks of sweaters instead of two. I have more drawer space & I can see all my sweaters at once.

Great product for organizing purses, etc. One caveat: These don't work if you have wire shelving. They DO make these dividers for wire shelves but these offered here aren't the same thing! Also, do measure thickness of shelf to assure stability when using these dividers.

As another reviewer already mentioned they don't fit perfectly on my shelf but still do the job so I'm very pleased. Mine don't stand as straight as what you see in the picture, but once the clothes are up, they will hold up well.

These are great! Just stack up your folded jeans, t-shirt, sweaters, etc..and they will stay neatly in a row/pile. They work great with stacks of sweaters that would otherwise fall over. They are tall enough to support a good sized stack, and deep enough to not be falling forward off the shelf. They work best with heavier items like sweaters or jeans. When used with t-shirts or lighterweight items, (Work-out gear, silk p.j.'s) The dividrs tend to fall over if you don't add a few heavier weight items to the stack. They are good and solid!

Excellent organizational tool. Word of caution - measure the width of the shelf that you will be using - mine is 1" and the bottom does not fit snugly. That said, once the folded clothes are in place, it stands up quite well.

The dividers are sturdy but do not attach well to the white closet shelf that I think is in many houses. The part that attaches is meant for a larger shelf, but if you push the back of the divider through the shelf, it should stay up just fine. You can't go banging on it but it wil stay in place when you put shirts up there.

These shelf dividers help me keep my husband's clothes in order when he rummages threw them looking for a particular item.
The only problem that I am having is they do not fit snug on my shelving, so I will have to screw them to the board.

I found this product to be extremely useful. I bought 3 sets and would buy more. I used them in my and my husband's closet to seperate folded denim and sweaters etc., much like the advertised usage. I also used them in my 3 year olds' closet to organize and seperate DVDs and books I store on a shelf out of their reach. I'm sure anyone could come up with more uses for these dividers with a little creativity.
