The key to these bricks is putting them together well. Make sure everything is folded and tucked in like it should be. If that is done, they will stack well and last LONG. We bought ours in 2000 for our first child's first birthday - she is now in second grade. She and both of our other children as well as many playgroups of boys & girls have enjoyed these blocks. I've also used these in childcare and church group settings with the same success. We still have all 48 (2 sets) of our blocks and they look almost new.

My boys received these as a Christmas gift.Ages 2 and 4. They are pretty simple to put together. I found that the building blocks hold up pretty well. Where the architecture blocks are flimsy and very easily crushed. You really need at least 2 sets or more to really build anything. Overall it has
been cheap entertainment that won't see next year.

I purchased four sets of these bricks, then split them three ways -- one to a granddaughter, one to a grandson, and one for Grammie to keep here.
A few days ago, an almost 3-year-old grandson (a very compliant child) who had not been given the bricks was here and I gave him the bricks to play with. I left the room after spending about ten minutes stacking and knocking down the bricks with him. Five minutes later when I returned to the room, half the bricks were smashed. If these bricks are "strong enough for adults to stand on," then tell me how a little kid could have possibly destroyed them in such a short amounts of time?
I am totally disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to anyone. Pay the higher price and purchase the better bricks from another source. Don't buy these. These are a poor imitation of the real thing.

My son has a fascination for anything to do with construction and his twin sister has decided she is a princess in disguise. He loves building her a castle she can sit in and then knocking it down to build her another one. She will sit and he will build all around her. It's hilarious to watch and they LOVE it! I also had a sort of Zen moment putting the blocks together. It was very easy once I got the hang of it.

We have a 2 year old and an almost 4 year old and these are great! I was so happy to find these after remembering something like them in the kindergarten classrooms I worked in college! We try to buy toys that don't pin children down to one idea but encourage them to make their own games and little worlds and these totally fit the bill. We're back to buy another set because my 4 year old wants enough to build an igloo! Assembly wasn't difficult once you followed the directions and went smoothly. As for those concerned with durability and sturdiness, these are the sturdiest, most durable cardboard I've seen .. that said they are made from cardboard and will not withstand jumping or getting wet!

This is by far the coolest thing my sons have. They are 3 1/2 and 6 months, he's very active too at his age. They've got all the suprhero toys imaginable, and I find them with these more than anything they do now, EVEN TV looses to these. They play with their action figures & cars on them, and even they climb on them! They are literally the perfect toy for every child. I am so happy and thrilled with these blocks. I even get to play with them, when my son asks me to help build something for him. These were an early Christmas gift this year and I love them more than any of their other toys.

We've had these for 6 years! My kids are 5 and 7. As infants/toddlers, my kids were greatly entertained for hours building simple towers, knocking them over and rebuilding (over and over again!) As they got older, they experimented with stacking in different ways, and as imaginary play took off, the blocks took on a world of their own ... becoming castles, houses, roads, corales, zoo pens, etc. (Who needs a dollhouse when you have these?) They have withstood tough play/abuse (even been walked on!)yet they still hold their shape and continue in play even today. They're a simple toy but really great! I give these as gifts to parents of young kids! Add the architectural blocks as it adds to the imagination!

My only problem is that they were kind of hard to put together at first but after the first few it did get easier. I would tell any parent or grandparent to purchase these blocks!

Now my kids are 5 and 8 yrs old. and they still use them all the time!
In the beginning they just liked to stack them, and then make them fall down. Now they build houses and mini kingdoms for their animals. I especially recommend the architectural blocks along with the standard ones, it really adds to their imagination.
I think they were the best investment I ever made!

The blocks show no sign of wear and the whole family got into putting them together last xmas.

These are a good quality product, my 2 and 4 year old girls love them. They were building towers with their VCR tapes, these are much safer and they love the colors. They get put away for only short periods before the girls bring them back out again. The only drawback so far is that if my younger daughter steps on them just the right way they will crush very slightly but not enough to make them unusable at this point. We have had them about a month and I am planning on another set or two for Christmas because they want to build taller towers.

We really like the Building Bricks and they seem to be holding up well. My 18-month old daughter loves knocking over whatever we build for her. However, we also bought the architectural bricks at the same time and they are not doing so well. Mainly the arches are very flimsy and are already crushed. The octogons and triangles are holding up better but they just do not work well with the other bricks (off balance, not to the same scale, etc.)
Buy the building bricks but not the architectural bricks.

These blocks are great fun for my 9 month old and my 2 year old. They are sturdy and durable but safe if the baby puts them in his mouth. The only drawback is to build anything substantial, you need more than one set.

Our daughter received a set of these as a gift from my parents when she was 1 1/2 years old. She didn't show them an incredible amount of interest until she hit two. Now she plays with them everyday and building "one more fort" is the last thing she wants to do before going to bed at night. I think we'll get her another set or two. A must-have toy at such a great price!

I BOUGHT 48 BLOCKS ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO, AND THEY ARE STILL IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION. I BOUGHT THEM FOR MY OLDER DAUGHTER, AND SINCE HAVE HAD 2 MORE CHILDREN INCLUDING MY 3 YR OLD H.F.AUTISTIC CHILD WHO LOVES TO BE VERY ROUGH WITH STUFF. ALL MY KIDS (9,3,1) PLAY WITH THEM ALMOST EVERY DAY EVEN MY DOG(65 LB PIT BULL) LIKES TO PLAY FETCH WITH THEM. THEY ARE VERY STURDY. WHEN THEY WERE DELIVERED I WAS VERY UNHAPPY. I COULD NOT IMAGINE A PICE OF CARDBOARD LIKE THAT HOLDING UP FOR VERY LONG. I WAS SO VERY WRONG. THIS IS A GREAT TOY I HAVE BOUGHT SETS AS GIFTS FOR OTHER CHILDREN AS WELL.

I was so excited to find these! 30 years ago my pediatricians had these in their office for my children. Today, my 15 month old granddaughter's pediatricians have them in their office. I now am able to have them in my own home. She can walk on them and not trip or hurt her feet like she does with wooden blocks. I can ask her for the different colored bricks to teach her colors. Plus, they are easy to stack and twice as noisy when smacked down! Great Fun!
