16-Piece water symphony(TM) is pure bathtime fun! Tap each dolphin and hear a different note. Once the notes are learned, it's easy to "compose" an original tune--or use included sheet music to play classic melodies like "London Bridge."  Hook 4 1/2" rings together or let them float freely. Needs no batteries. Great for bath toy or pool. Ages 18 mos. and up.

Comments about Lillian Vernon 16-Piece Water Symphony(TM):

The dolphins were pretty much mute. Once in awhile you would hear a faint whistle. The other problem is, they don't stay attatched. Very misleading product.

While I'll admit my daughter likes it as a lovely floating dolphin set, this is only because she can't read the package so does not know how disappointed she should be. There is no symphony- these dolphins are mutes! Each dolphin is hollow with a whistle in its head. Pushing one down is supposed to push air through the whistle to produce a note. But it can barely be heard above the splashing, and you get no sound at all most of the time. This would be a fine five dollar toy, but definitely wildly overpriced. Skip it!

I was so surprised to see 4 negative (and no positive) reviews of this item. We have had it since our 4 year old son was a baby, we have great fun with it. Our 22 month old daughter loves them as well. I agree that they do not always stay together and the notes are at times difficult to get, but they are fun. It is fun to hear the note when the dolphin is totally submerged (has to be completely emptied of water first). WE are getting ready to purchase two more sets for baby neice's.

16 Piece Waste of money

The only reason I gave this one star is that I could not give it 0 stars. First, these dolphins barely make a sound when tapped. Second, when you do hit them hard enough to make an actual audible sound they sink underwater and the whole circle of dolphins comes apart. I spent more time putting them together than the kids did playing with it. By the way, the sheet music comes on regular paper which works great in a wet environment. At least they float which is more than I can say about two boats we got from here.

We just got this toy in the mail, hit the bath, and I agree with the other two reviewers on both accounts! You can't hear the notes, or some work, some don't, push down any harder and they sink and the rings don't stay together. It's a great concept but completely fails. If you just want cute dolphins in the bath, then okay. But if you were looking for a "symphony", forget it.

Comments about Lillian Vernon 16-Piece Water Symphony(TM):

I was very disappointed with this toy. When I read the description it says you hear a different note. I didn't hear anything. If I tapped it harder, it would just go under water. It was a big waste of money!!!! The only thing I liked about it was the assortment of colors. Also, the dolphins are made of a hard plastic and my boys like to throw things around in the tub and they hurt.

Complete disappointment
By NickelsVerified Reviewer from Massachusetts on 11/15/2007

Best Uses:

Comments about Lillian Vernon 16-Piece Water Symphony(TM):

My children's Godmother purchased this as a gift for them, because they both love to be in the tub, but it is near impossible to get any sound out of it, and if you can manage to get all of the rings hooked together they won't stay that way for long.

This is a total disappointment.
