I would love to comment. 1st of all, can any of you read. I had to right a review after reading some of these negative remarks. My only complaint is that my girls names were put on the box upside down. But my twins are 4 1/2, they could care less if their names were spelled backwards on the box. They're not playing with the box. The dimmensions of the doll are clearly stated, if you can't visualize 7 1/2 inches, get a tape measure. And it clearly states that there isn't a hanging bar for the clothes. The ones I purchased have a hook that will hold the hangers.
My girls have thoroughly enjoyed the doll sets, and their older sister now wants one as well. I think the set is absolutely prescious. If you want a doll that looks like she cost a hundred $, then go buy a doll that cost a $100. I feel this item was fairly described and priced. I got exactly what I read about, and it was exactly what I expected.

I have read a lot of negative reviews regarding this item and I will disagree. It is a great product for the price. If you are looking for a quality doll trunk, you will need to look elsewhere. I thought the doll trunk, however, was decent for the price. The doll is not cute. I was looking for clothes to fit my Tiny Betsy McCall and these fit perfect. So hard to find diminutive doll clothes nowadays with the 18" doll takeover. The sleeping bag and pillow are cute too. If you calculate the cost of the clothes (not to include the trunk and doll), they are less than [$] an outfit. I think that's very reasonable.

I did read all of the reviews before buying this but since it's what my grand daughter really wanted I went ahead and purchased. The letters were on straight and the different outfits were perfect. A little brush to the hair because of its packaging but otherwise, I can't wait to give it to her on Christmas. (BTW - because the description DOES say hanging bar NOT included, I had found a pencil to fit into the space just perfectly.)

Recently I have been disappointed with the overall quality of Lillian Vernon. I make several purchases a year and this one was by far the most diappointing. The quality is very low and the personalization looks like a first grader put on stickers. I also had bags and lunch boxes with the silk screen personalization that used to be embroidered.

Makes a unique gift that can't be found in stores. Poor quality. Looks cheap. I was extrememly disappoined. Personalization was sloppily done. Sticker letters were applied poorly and one letter partly missing. Sloppy job. Would've rather put letters on myself.

Be aware of the poor looking stick on name on the cardboard box. Mine arrived with letters being put on crooked and not centered on the box and with very plain looking stick on letters. Not the same as shown on the picture.
The dolls' face in the picture looks also much prettier than what we actually received.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the bar for the hangers is missing and the hangers are way to tiny.
This is very poor quality toy.

I was SO excited to get this for my 3.5 year old daughter for Christmas this year. It was going to be her big, hidden gift. I was in SHOCK at the size when I received it. So small. I then could not believe that the trunk is actually cardboard [...]. Her name was in put on in stick on letters and I feel as though I need to glue them on, as they are already ready to come off!!! The little tiny clip for all the clothes to hang on is way too small and I personally tried to hang everything and it wouldnt fit. Then I took the doll out of the packaging and had to spend TEN minutes just trying to fix her hair so that she will look somewhat new when my daughter opens her. THEN there was hot glue (a dirty brown color) all over the fabric of one of the outfits and the little fur coat had been cut very crooked. Soooo disappointed. Will never order anything from this website again.

I bought this for my cousin who turned 4. I was not happy that the letters on the front looked cheap. It also had a scratch underneath her name. The quality of the trunk itself was also cheap. Luckily its for a young child who doesnt worry about stuff like that!

This doll is very cute. She is pretty sturdy, but she is smaller than you would think. The size doesn't seem to phase my 6-yr-old. The box is just cardboard it feels like, but we haven't had any problems with it thus far (about 3 months) and my daughter carries her around quite a bit. She loves changing her clothes and putting her to bed with her in the sleeping bag. I would say it was worth the price!

My grandchild came to visit, and parents would not allow her to take any doll from home; I had this as a surprise for her and she (a very bright 7 year old) LOVED it....the changes of clothes, the hair (complete with tiny hairbrush), the little shoes.....just a delightful little gift and small enough to move around the house and car.
So maybe the trunk won't last for years - WHO CARES? it is an adorable, enjoyable gift and I love the little sleeping bag and pillow....thank you!!

I bought my daughter this set when she was six years old for Christmas because her friend had it and she loved it, so I ordered it and she fell in love with it! Everyday she would change the outfit and eventually, we bought her a doll house for this adorable little doll! The stickers that say the name are a bit cheesy, they started to peel, but my daughter is now eight and still loves it. I got a skinny dowel and it fit perfect so that my daughter could hang all of the darling little clothes. The box still works and the doll and outfit are still in perfect shape!

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas several years ago. It is just like my mother's Ginny doll set from the 1950's, which I also loved when I was young. Our daughter left it on the shelf until recently and now at age 7 it is one of her favorites. She can easily take it with her, accessories and all. The outfits are beautiful and she enjoys interchanging them often and pretending she is going ice-skating, or singing in the rain. I love that it is a toy without electronic bells and whistles, just old-fashioned pretend play that today's generation needs. I recommend using Lillian Vernon's age suggestion-not for very young children.

My daughter asked repeatedly for this doll for Christmas, so I ordered it for her. She was very excited to open it and has played with it quite a bit - she really likes it. I, however, was disappointed with the lettering (just stickers on the trunk) that began falling off within two days. And, one of the outfits is too small for the doll, you can't velcro it in the back. Since I got the set on sale, I am OK with it - but if I had paid full price for it, I would have been really upset with the quality. I would only recommend this if you can get it on clearance...

My sister first told me about this set for my daughter and said how nice this set is. She was soooo right, it is soooooo adorable. I got one for my daughter who is 8 and 2 of her sunday school friends who are 9 and 10 for Christmas. I let them open these today and they took a fit over these and are having sooooo much fun with them. No, it does not come with a clothing rack, but I just cut down a pencil to size, a dowel rod would work as well and put them into the top above the drawer and now they have a clothes rack to hang all these darling outfits on. They love it and I highly recommend this adorable set. And its the perfect size for them to bring to church and will keep them entertained. LOVE IT!!!

I bought the set like this when my daughter was 8. She is 21 now and still has this set. I don't think that it's a poor quality like others wrote-the set is still in the good shape. The fabric could be more attractive though.My daughter liked it then and now!

I bought this for my daughter 3 years ago for Christmas. She loved it, until the trunk started peeling! It doesn't close right anymore. It is just cardboard. The doll and clothes are still fine and she still enjoys playing with them. She also didn't understand why there were coathangers with nowhere to hang the clothes.

I called Lillian Vernon the day I received this doll and trunk to return it. It was a piece of junk. The letters on the trunk were peeling off and crooked, the trunk itself is just cheap cardboard and the doll and clothes are also very cheap, especially for the price. Buyer beware, this is not as nice as it appears in the picture. You will be disapointed.

I bought one for my older daughter several years ago (age 4 at the time) and her sister loved it so much I later bought her one also. The outfits are cute. My kids suggested it as Christmas gifts for my nieces so now they each have one as well. Any toy that comes with built in storage is a plus in my book. If kids have a hard time dressing other types of smaller dolls, they may have trouble with this as well. My girls are careful with most of their things, but children that are rougher with their toys may have a hard time keeping the trunk nice. It would be a plus if it came with a hanging bar for the clothes, but my girls usually have them spread out for play anyway.

It is just a piece of cardboard that is already falling apart; and whomsoever decided not to include the rod to hang clothes but did include hangers should not be designing children's toys --Certainly nowhere near worth the money I spent on this -- over [$] -- a waste of money...I would not recommend it to anyone

The name on the trunk was poorly done. It was done using adhesive letters and the letters were crooked and looked terrible. I could have done a better job. The catalog states that it doesn't come with hanging rod, but I thought it would have a place to put one since all of the outfits come on hangers. There wasn't anything to support a rod.

The item was packed too tight in the box and I used a sharp item to open it and cut the box to the doll. It should have been packed in a larger box with packing.

My aunt bought this for my daughter. The first thing we noticed was there is no bar to hang the clothes on. So you have all these little hangers and no use for them. Some of the clothes were really difficult to put on. After a couple of years of very little use, we decided to sell it in a consigment sale. It was personalized and the personalization consisted of stick-on letters. I peeled those off before selling it. One of the stickers peeled the paper off of the trunk. I realized right then the trunk was cardboard. If it had gotten wet or stepped on, it would have been history. My daughter is particular about her toys and it didn't get played with much, so I didn't realize just how flimsy it really was.

This is the 2nd doll Ihave purchased for my granddaughter and she loves it. Her brother tore the head off the first doll and she was crushed and requested another! The clothes have lasted through dressing and redressing. This is one of her very favs.

Our four year old plays with this doll set about as much as she plays with her other dolls. The doll is low quality. Some clothing items are made well, but others like the red shiny dress, are poor. The red dress is frayed all over; the material used was a bad choice. Many items are very hard to put on the doll and near impossible for a small child. Some items, such as the tights, barely fit. The trunk does not have a clothes rod as shown; it only has a small loop in the center, so it is not possible to hang up all the clothes.

It is a great toy idea and cute, but quality falls short for the price. If the quality was better, I would recommend it. Despite all that, our four year old likes it and says it is fun.
