My daughters loved this, the box is cardboard, but my kids always took good care of their things. They are older now but even used pieces for theme days in high school. I'm now buying one for a friend's 2 year old daughter.

The contents will work fine but the box is useless. It won't stand up to any use, little more than a big shoe box. Will work well if you do as previous post suggest and get something different as container.

The "Trunk" is a pasteboard box that is not sturdy and when they ship the box they put box tape on it so when you go to pull it off the design comes off of the box onto the tape. It looks so tacky. I will be returning this item immediately. Very disappointing.

I really thought that the pieces worked together well. I bought this as a gift for my niece and the only down side of this item is the box - I just tossed it and went to the local craft store to buy an affordable hat box to keep all of the stuff in. Now it is a gift that I will be proud to give!
