Don't waste your money on this. I got this for my daugter entering second grade, it lasted only one month as the bottom got a hole in the bottom.
It may work if your child has light things, my child didn't, no support on the bottom.

I bought this rolling back pack for my niece in 5th grade. 2 weeks into the school year, the bottom supports broke. Not an item I would recommend for any school related activities.

This was my daughters second choice but she likes the look. The design keeps it from standing and it falls over unless it is propped up. This is the case whether it is full or empty.

No easy Access
By busymomVerified Purchaser from Royal Oak Michigan on 9/7/2007
Cons:
Zipper
Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Pink and Purple Tie-Dye Pilot Case:

Was very disappointed in the pilot case. The large area for placing clothes does not up- zip all of the way like a normal suitcase. Therefore you have to stuff the clothes in and can not access them easily

Broken to quickly

Comments about Lillian Vernon Pink and Purple Tie-Dye Pilot Case:

I am sending it back today. My 2nd grader has used it for 2 weeks and the base above the wheels is broken. She does not have books... only a folder and a binder. I would like to exhange it for a messenger bag.
