Adorable but Poorly Painted

I purchased this ornament for my 1st son. I love the uniqueness. It is adorable but the paint work was so horrible. Big paint drips on one side and absolutely no paint on the other. I sent it back for another. The 2nd I received was only slightly better and I just decided to fix the paint myself. I will be purchasing this item again for my second child in the hopes the paint work is better. I absolutely do not recommended as a gift only because of it's uncertainty in the paint finish.

great idea but poor quality inscription/personalization looks good from a far but up close the name and date cannot be seen well. wouldn't gift. heavy.

I got this ornament as a gift for my daughter's 1st Christmas back in 2003 and it still looks brand new! I've never had any problems with any paint chipping. It's very sturdy. The only drawback is it's a little too heavy and long. I have a hard time keeping it on my tree, but I still plan to order one for my son's 1st Christmas this year!

I have no idea why a lot of you are knocking this item. I have 5 kids and I always order these for any new baby. They are adorable! I have never seen a problem with the paint or the lettering for names and I have ordered well over a dozen of these in the last 10 years at least. I usually check reviews before I make a purchase but the reviewers that are disappointed might want to shop else where because these are well worth the money. I gave 4 stars because it is a very heavy ornament, but I would buy this again and again :)

this item isn't the best looking thing i have ever gotten, but i'm putting in on a tree and it's doing the job just fine- wouldn't recommend giving it as a gift. up close the ornament doesn't look so great, but on the tree it looks adoarable!

I ordered this for my best friend's new little one, and I am too embarrassed to give it to her...the painting on it is awful and sloppy. And now it is too late to order something else personalized. I would love to get my money back!!!

I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my niece, and was disappointed. It looked pretty cheap, and the personalization was very tacky looking...faint and haphazard...so much so that I painted over the blanket part and the personalization myself and re-wrote it. Ugh.

I would not recommend this item at all. It is very poorly made and the painting is very sloppy. The picture online is very deceiving. I am highly surprised that someone recommended this item. Very very cheap and not worth it.

The ornament was very disappointing. Poor quality and not bright colored as shows in the picture, was smudged and the monograming was too small. I will not send it to the intended person and will return it to Lilian Vernon. Looks very cheap. This is the first time I'm disappointed with a Lilian Vernon purchase and I order a lot from this catalogue.

I was rather disappointed with the quality of this item. It was painted rather badly and felt cheap. It is basically like it looks in the picture, but it looks better from far away. Every other thing I have ever had personalized from LV has been of much better quality.
