My 4 yr old opened these and was clearly not interested as he didn't know what to do with them and packaging was dull for his age. However, as soon as he and his 6 yr old sister started playing with them--they LOVED them! They fought over them and now I'm buying a second set. One set is really kind of small to do any major building.
