Smaller than it looks
By Lakeys from Charlotte, NC on 7/31/2008
Pros:
Comfortable Strap, Good Strap Length, Lightweight, Stylish
Cons:
Color Not As Expected, Not roomy enough
Primary use:
Personal
Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

I was disappointed when the bag arrived. It is much smaller than I expected. I am not able to fit much inside of the narrow pocket. Also, the color is not as dark as it looks in the picture. It is a very light pink. I purchased it for my daughter to use for school. She is attached to the bag now and doesn't want to send it back, but I don't think it will be roomy enough for a 2nd grader.

This bag looks good. We bought the matching zipper folder though, and once that's inside there really isn't room for much more.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

I bought this for my daughter to use for school. The bag is good quality and looks really nice, but it just isn't big enough for all of her folders and books. She's in 5th grade and can only get one book in it after she puts her folders in it. She loves it, but it just isn't big enough for school. It's perfect for using as a carry-on when we travel.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

Bag looks nice- and embroidery is great. Bag itself is not the best quality but I think it will work great for the 5 year old I am giving it to. She can put a few coloring books and pencils or crayons and carry it herself wherever she is going. Wouldn't hold much more than that though.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

This was a gift for my daughter in 1st grade. She had been asking for one for weeks. When it arrived and we gave it to her, she just lit up! I was impressed by the sturdiness and the look. The feature that I like the best is the velcro flap. She doesn't have to use the zipper to keep her books in. Just flip open/close the flap. Quick, hassel-free access! The embroidered name is a nice touch! Especially when kids can forget/lose things so easily.

Too small for everyday school use
By Ballet momVerified Reviewer from Homer Glen, IL on 10/7/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Lightweight
Cons:
Not Enough Pockets
Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

My daughter loved the idea of having a personalized school bag that didn't look like everyone elses. She used it for the first couple weeks of school before she became sick of carrying her lunch bag and gym shoes in a separate bag. This bag is cute but not very practical/functional for much more than a couple of thin books and folders. If it were deeper than 3-1/2" or perhaps expandable, this bag would be perfect!

I bought this bag for each one of my three daughters for school this year. Each one has a different color. We all love the personal touch of having their names (or initials) on their bags. It's great for my kindergardener, and second grader, however, my sixth grader has a bit of trouble fitting all of her stuff inside. She has to carry her binder seperate. I wish it came in two sizes, one that was a bit bigger for the bigger kids.

This bag is nice, and has great color selection...just what my daughter was looking for. The cell phone holder is too small for any phone, not that she has one! It is really not quite big enough to hold what she needs. More pockets would be nice too. Depending on your child's age/grade would decide if you would want to purchase it. My daughter is in 5th grade and has a hard time accommodating all her books. It would be fine for younger children.

Very pretty and light weight. My daughter is in 4th grade and loves it. It is nice personalized and all her friends want one. However, it is barely large enough to use with the matching binder. My daughter insisted on this particular messenger bag for back-to-school. The bag is barely wide enough to hold a 1 1/2' binder. Seriously! We should have ordered one of the other back packs and had it monogramed. Obviously the girl in the pic is small because my daughter is 9 and very small for her age and it fits smaller on her. I'm sure that we will end up purchasing another one later in the year. Bottom line..... it's ok but not worth the price or the size. Just make sure before you purchase.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

Bag is adorable, very stylish with great pockets... if you're looking for style without comfort or space- this bag is for you. I'm unsure it would hold more than a laptop. The binder my daughter brings home from school is a standard size and barely fits... any additional books (which will come)- will have to be carried outside. We were disappointed in the size, though we will put to use for other things, as she cannot use it as a 4th grade intermediate school student; also because of the lack of room, when heavy things are crammed in, the padding for the shoulder strap is not nearly thick enough...

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

My 8 year old wanted this bag for back to school. I was hesitant that everything would fit but we've received the bag and have it packed with her school supplies and everything fit perfectly! I love the extra padding for her shoulder. She fell in love with it the minute she saw it! And her name looks great on the front! This bag is a winner!

Is a great bag but is to small to use with the matching 3 ring binder. It's good for younger students that don't need the binder yet.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Diamond-Quilted Messenger Bag:

I have 4 girls 7, 8, 10, and 12. I also took my 16 year old neice along to help care for the kids.My mom purchased them all the same bag. I usually have to hear them complain. They came personalizzed. and we pwred them with matching pilots cases. The bags were easy to find at the airport. they didn;t have to go through each others bag to see who it belonged to. they used these bags as carry ons i filled them with gel pens, body glitters. sealed snacks, their i-pods, books, mini suntan, babywipes, hairties, and waterbottle. miraceouly every one kept up with their things. this bag is a must have for trips long and short.
