Comments about Lillian Vernon Reflective Messenger Bag:

The bag is cute but my daughter is in 5th grade and is required to use a 2 inch notebook. The bag is too small to carry the notebook along with any school books. We will use it for dance but it doesn't work as a 5th grade school bag!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Reflective Messenger Bag:

My son is in 7th grade and this will absolutely NOT accommodate all his school stuff. Also, the side of the bag, inside the big flap, is plastic and seems as if it will tear apart easily. My son chose it because it would hold his laptop, which it does, and because it looked good in the magazine. It just won't hold much else!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Reflective Messenger Bag:

My kids LOVED the bag for school. They hold a lot but it doesn't look over-sized when nearly empty. The only flaw is that apparently the zipper pulls aren't made to last because LESS THAN ONE WEEK of use it (the main one on top) fell off on one of them (I bought 3).

Comments about Lillian Vernon Reflective Messenger Bag:

My 7 year old son didn't want a back pack for school but most of the other 'school' type bags were too big for him. This is the perfect size. It's comfortable, lightweight and has enough room for the school supplies a second grader needs. It is easily accessible and the velcro makes it easy to open and close rather than the grip and pinch clips that so many of these bags seem to have.

Great for young student. I don't feel confident it would hold heavy books. It's smaller than I expected, deep enough for a 2" binder, folders and notebooks, but no room for a lunch box.
The color is great and the semiclear pockets are deep but flat. My daughter loves it. It suits her needs.

She likes being her own person. School has not started yet so we don't know how durable it is yet. I am sure it will hold up for the school year.

I purchased the pink messenger bag for the sole purpose of my 7 year old book bag. She has a 3 ring binder and reading book and it fits without stuffing and easy to remove. However, the straps need more cushion in my opinion but other than that its a WINNER! My sister purchased one for my 8 year old niece in the 3rd grade as well!

My daughter loves this messenger bag! Although school doesn't start for a few weeks it seems roomy enough and it's certainly fashionable - she will be in 3rd grade and has been so excited about this purchase that she sometimes just puts it on and walks around the house with stuffed animals in it. It has enough compartments to keep her organized, too.

I recently order the lavender and pink messenger bags for my two daughters. And I expected them to be small and awkward, not at all like the photo. But the bags were surprisingly spacious with plenty of pockets for their school supplies. And the embroidery was top quality with no additional cost. Also the adjustable strap allows the versitility to wear across the body. With this cute and stylish bag the girls will start this year off right!
