    Love the box BUT...
By teacher from Germantown, Md on 11/7/2010
    Pros:
Bright Colors, Can Withstand Use, Fun, Unique, Versatile
    Cons:
    Poor Monogramming
    Best Uses:
Arts & Crafts, Back To School, Classroom
    Describe Yourself:

    Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

I had the boxes monnogrammed and the names on the boxes look very cheap. They apply white, letter stickers to the box to spell the names. The stickers are not centered, straight, or spaced evenly. The letter stickers are really pieces of stickers put together to form the letters. On the ends, the stickers folded under so the ends are sticking up making tiny tabs. My kids are going to pick them off as soon as they get the boxes.

The boxes are great and would be fine without the monogramming. I wish I hadn't requested my kds' names on them. Santa would never deliver something that looked like this!

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

I really liked the look of this school box that I bought for my preschool daughter. It had her name on it, and she was really excited! But after just a week of normal use, the letters are coming off, so it no longer says her name, a great disappointment to a little girl who is just learning the letters of her name.

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

Very cute design but not sturdy to withstand any child activities. The very first day we got it the loop in the front pulled out of the box. My daughter was upset. So I had to superglue to loop back into the box top. That is holding for now. She did not take it to school because it was not long enough to even hold her pencils so she is using it for a jewelry box instead

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

The box is very cute, made from cardboard, similar to older school boxes. It seems like it will hold up well though. The name is put on the box with stickers, which I was not expecting.Over all my daughter likes it and for [$] not a bad deal!

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

I run a daycare center. Every year I get my school kids a back to school gift, usually from Lilly's because I like the personalizing they do. Always been happy. These boxes are smaller then a school box. They don't hold pencils. The things that come in it are very cheepy [...].I would not buy them again.

    Cute but not practical.
By Busy momVerified Purchaser from Milford, DE on 8/14/2007

    Cons:

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

The box is not able to hold a standard size pencil, which means the child cannot use it in the classroom. The band that holds the box closed broke off as soon as I opened it for the first time. Cute but not practical as a school box for school.

    Not big enough!
By JackVerified Purchaser from Maryland on 8/13/2007
    Pros:

    Cons:
    Not wide enough
    Best Uses:
Arts & Crafts, Back To School

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

The reason the box comes with "mini" pencils is because it is not wide enough to hold standard sized pencils. You would think a "pencil" box would hold pencils!

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

This box looks very cute in pictures, however it isn't even worth [$]. When sent by mail there was no package protection needless to say it was pretty beat up. I am a school teacher and I don't think this box is big enough to hold all your child's school supplies.

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

I was a little disapointed in the size. It needs to be bigger so pincils will fit in it, but I loved the look and my kids thought it was the neatest thing to have their name on all of their stuff. Oh yea and the need a camo one to match all the boy camo stuff.

    Cons:
    Flimsy, Sloppy Lettering
    Best Uses:
    Arts & Crafts
    Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon School Supply Boxes:

We just received this box after it was on backorder for some time. It arrived in a bag with NO packing protection...and therefore, it was very beat up from the trip through the mail. Since it is only a cardboard box, it is not durable. Most disappointing was the personalization. The letters were mere stickers that had been stuck on...and there wasn't even a space between the first and last name (even though there was ample room). This is a cheap product that we would not order again.
