Comments about Lillian Vernon Silverwave Counter Mat:
I bought a large one of these for the side of my stove and two smaller ones so I could use one on my kitchen table and one in my bathroom to set my flat iron on when it is heating up. They are pretty great. You cannot wash these (it says wipe clean) because the bottom (and probably the insulation) is paper-based. They are pretty sturdy, but they bend easily so don't be too rough with them because once they bend, that's it. You're stuck with the lumps.
