The item works as well as it describes and holds together well. The only problem I had is that any fruit in the lower basket ends up with bruise lines from the wires after a short period of time. I still use the banana hanger but have stopped putting fruit in the basket. Instead my family and I keep single serve snack foods in the basket such as bags of chips, boxes of raisins, and other things that will not bruise.

I was looking forward to using this basket as a pretty and useful way to store my fruits and vegetables. But don't look too closely! On the bottom platform the soldering is very poorly done. It is messy and not smooth. In places it looks as if the chrome is peeling off.

I like the look of the product very much. Love the chrome. The ones at other stores are cheap and either plastic or wood base and I didn't want that for my kitchen. It's definitely very solid. On the positive side the banana hook is easily removable so that if you only want to use the fruit hammock you can. The down side of this feature at least for me with the one I received is that the chrome pieces that attach the banana hook into place are not very tight so when you go to take a banana off the hook the entire hook apparatus comes off, especially if the banana's are tight and you have to pull. So that's kind of a pain. Otherwise, really like the product. Thought about super gluing the hook apparatus into place but then I wouldn't be able to remove it if I just wanted to use the hammock portion as a fruit basket for other fruits. Might try the 2 tier hammock they have on this site.

I love this fruit basket because of the banana hanger. I was constantly throwing out bananas that had big bruised spots. With this hanger my bananas don't bruise and stay fresh longer. It's also very convenient to have the attached basket for fruit. A nice plus is the attractive design of this piece. The only downside is that extra long bananas don't leave a lot of room for fruit but this is usually no big deal.

Great Price for a great product. The basket allows air to circulate so fruit doesn't rot. It's a great space saver. I could not be more pleased with my purchase. I have had this for over a year and it is in great condition. Washes well in the dishwasher. I have even purchased as a wedding shower gift.
