I first bought this item about 5 or 6 years ago. It worked as well then as it does now.Seafood, fish, shellfish, onions, garlic, garlicky sausage-you name it-Odors Away! No after-smell! The smell just disappears. Use on hands just as a bar of soap.If you want, you can squirt lemon juice on, but not necessary.
I only wish they had a product to remove odors from cutting boards. I've tried-not much success.

I've been using the same odor-away for a few years now. At first,I was skeptical-how can something strong enough to make your eyes water and "stink up the joint" get the self-same odors completely off your hands as if it's never been there?
Only Mother Nature (and science) knows for sure. All I know is that it works and whenever anybody visits my house and asks what it is,I make them demonstrate. They're amazed! Best thing since sliced bread!!

I also heard from Martha Stewart to rub your hands on a stainless steel knife and have been doing that until I found the "Rub Away" bar. It's perfect and also bought one for a family member that uses a lot of garlic in their cooking. They love it also!

I read about this type thing a couple years ago and use my faucet in the kitchen to ellimate odors from cooking but this will now be a must on my kitchen sink and my family won't think I'm nuts!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Rub-Away Odor Bar:
This little thing is so cute and it works like magic. I'd heard Martha Stewart say that the way to get rid of odors(such as onions) is to rub your hands along a stainless steel knife. I love that the "Rub Away" bar is desgned to do the same thing (without a sharp edge) and looks like a bar of soap. Odors instantly vanish.
