Both warmers kept butter hot, while one of them brought it's butter to a boil. At one point it "popped" some hot butter onto the table. Still, I liked them enough to get more as sharing was too much of an inconvenience for guests.

One of the warmers works fine, the other causes the butter to burn. I think it is a variation in the quality of the dish as I have tried variations with the candle. Height of flame to candle on both are the same.
