Film on Floor
By Runner buyer from NJ on 12/6/2010
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable
Primary use:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

I loved this runner till I noticed there is a film on my floor where the rug was. I took the rug up to clean my floor and there is a sticky film on my hard wood floor that I am having a really hard time getting up. I read one other review that said the same thing. I would suggest a non skid pad for under this runner to protect the floor. I contacted Lillian Vernon and they don't know how to remove the film

We were lucky to find such a long runner at such an affordable price. The only con would be that it is not as thick as it looks in the photo.

For the price it serves its purpose if you need a long runner. Had high quality ones from this site before.Where did they go? Curl up at edges and not real attractive. Are non-slip. They are long and were good for winter traffic but won't last long.

I did not use this product at all. I opened the box and was very disappointed right away. To me it had the appearance of being a plastic rug, the color was way off, plus it had a funny smell. I packed it right back up to return it.

Received this item today, was disappointed in the color. It is a different color than what is depicted on the website. I thought it would be the same beige color as shown, but is a brown color. It was a great bargain, though.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

I like the design very much, but have been disappointed in its wearability. After only 3 1/2 months, the sticky backing has come off and left a residue on my wood floors - making the rugs slip around. The residue is very tacky and leaves foot prints, and I am not finding it easy to clean off my floor. Do you have any suggestions? I don't want to ruin my wood floors.

Good product. I ordered 3 beige and the color varies slightly from one to the other. One did not feel like it had the skid resistant latex back. Generally, I am happy with the product, and time will tell how durable they are.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

I was glad to find a long runner that was affordable! I bought both the 12ft. and the 8ft. runners in beige. (I probably could use a 14ft. or 16ft.) We have one in the hallway and one in the hall area in the dining room. They look great! The color appears (to me) to be the same as it is on the website. We really like the way they grip our hardwood floors! I haven't had to clean them yet, but I do wish they were machine washable.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and the runners arrived in good condition. They were creased in a few places, but after a few days, they were fine.

Great runner!

Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

I use this runner in the hallway to the bedrooms and we love it! It adds a little comfort and looks great! My only frustration at times is that the 12 foot runner twists a little from time to time and I feel like I have to straighten it out quite a bit- so maybe an extra skid pad under it would help. But really, we are very happy with it!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

I was so disappointed to learn when this arrived that it is not machine washable (advertised as cotton, I thought it would be) and spot clean only. had this been in the description, I don't think I would've purchased it. I have tried to wash it in the machine on "delicate" and "hand wash" but it doesn't refresh it very well. What good is a hall or entry rug that can't be washed? Well, I guess it's cheap enough so that you're supposed to just buy another one when it gets dirty, but with three dogs in the house, that would be every week.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

This is a great rug. I really like it. I have been looking for a runner for my hallway for about 2 years. I could not find one that was long enough, at a price that was reasonable. The rug is very soft to walk on. There is only one thing i don't like about it. The color. I would say it is more of a brown than a beige. Just don't be surprised when it is a little darker.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Beige Hand-Loomed Cotton Runner:

For the price these are just beautiful! I would purchase them again. I agree with the other comment posted - I do wish they came in a red color! We have wood laminate flooring - and the backing grabs it nice, however the sides don't have backing to the edge and they turn up slightly. Have to watch this in high traffice areas so you don't trip.

I purchased this runner for my hallway from the front porch to the kitchen. It is a high traffic area and this runner is the perfect size to protect my newly refinished wood floors. It's a great addition to my living room and it serves a great purpose! All you need to do is buy the rug pad and put it down. It's a great value for your money. I would highly recommend it!

But not long enough for my hall way, so now it is in my hallway in the dinning area.
The one I bought 6 yrs ago was really long. 16 ft. long. It was purfect. Please buy some more long carpet runners.
