Corn cradles? NAH! BUT GREAT @ BBQ's...

Pros:
Attractive Design, Dishwasher Safe, Doesn't Stain, Great value, High Quality, Multiple uses
Cons:
Waaaaaaay too narrow
Best Uses:
Casual Gatherings

Comments about Lillian Vernon Corn on the Cob Cradles and Forks:

Narrowness rendered these dishes ill-suited for their intended purpose, BUT I'm keeping them. They're attractive, well-made, & stackable,as well as a good buy. I displayed sliced tomatoes, onions & pickle spears, as part of a "burger fixin's" set-up. I plan on using them at other casual gatherings for serving olives, radishes and etc. I would recommend them to friends for their quality, but not as corn cradles!!!

Dish isn't wide enough for most ears of corn :( They were a gift and I want the giver to see me still with them, otherwise I probably wouldn't still have them.

Could be better
By RobinVerified Purchaser from North Brunswick, NJ on 7/12/2007
Pros:
Durable
Cons:
Difficult To Use
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Corn on the Cob Cradles and Forks:

The ceramic cradles are very well made but they could be a little bit wider. A hefty ear of corn fits in them a bit too snug. The "forks" have a stainless steel spring coil around the handles that make it difficult to get a good grip on them (to get them into the cob) since they actually "spring" when you push on them.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Corn on the Cob Cradles and Forks:

Had a hard time getting them into the cob to stay. The first time I stuck them in (all the way), they feel out of at least one side for each of my kids (my main use). Once I spread the prongs further apart they seemed to grab hold better.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Corn on the Cob Cradles and Forks:

Chrome corn holders
By JeanVerified Purchaser from Erie, PA on 7/1/2007
Pros:
Durable
Cons:
Hard to poke in corn
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Lillian Vernon Corn on the Cob Cradles and Forks:

I have had plastic corn holders that break. Well these chrome ones seem like they will hold up better. My only complaint is that they are a bit harder to insert into the corn and they bend slightly when doing this. They certainly are more elegant than the plastic ones.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Corn on the Cob Cradles and Forks:

I had been searching for some corn cob cradles and these are the nicest looking ones I've found. I'm pleased with the quality and love that they can go in the dishwasher. I like having a place to roll the cob in butter, rather than on a flat plate. Much easier to prepare and eat!
