Customers most agreed on the following attributes:
WE OPENED THEM CHRISTMAS MORNING AND THEY DID NOT WORK, WE HAVE HAD THEM SINCE SITTING IN A DRAWER. THOUGHT I WOULD LOOK THEM UP ON THE NET AND FOUND THEM ON THIS SITE AND SAW THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THEM AT ALL.

This product was a major dissappointment. They didn't work. We put in new batteries and we weren't even able to get static! Our daughter loved the fact that they were "princesses" but doesn't have any interest in them since they don't work. Straight for the trash.

I am very disappointed w/this product. It appears to be a scam of a product. This gift was for my granddaughter 8 yrs old. She was so excited to get them and then had to realize they didn't work. What a horrible gift. I made my granddaughter cry on Christmas.
This was the first thing my daughter wanted to play with xmas morning and then it did not work. There is no reception unless you are standing right next to each other and then it is pointless. She was upset and needless to say the walkie talkies have not moved since that morning. What a waste of money.
Waste of money the quality is cheap and all you hear is static. I should have read the other reviews before ordering. Too much trouble to return so this toy is going in the garbage.

Granddaughter was very disappointed that these did not work. All that could be hard was static. I didn't pay any attention to the "comments" on this or the "star" rating. If I had, I would not have ordered them. My son took her some place else and bought her a set of walkie-talkies because she liked these so much and then they wouldn't work.
I bought 2 of these as Christmas gifts. One for my daugter and one for my neice. I'm sorry that I DID!!! It does not work at all - indoors or outdoors! I will be returning this item! I'm now embarassed that I purchased a NO GOOD toy for my neice as her Christmas gift. I'm sure they are thinking, what a junk toy from her aunt!
We had to return them because they had very bad reception and you couldn't hear the other person very well. We were very disappointed.

The battery compartment would not stay closed the first time we tried to put a battery in it. Seems like the screw is too short. Even with it held closed, both walkie talkies have very poor sound quality. Turning them all the way up and speaking loudly you can just barely hear the other person. The morse code button seemed to work. They feel cheaply made. Very disappointing for my little girl.

I tried to use these with my grand daughter. I pushed the talk button but she was unable to hear me through the walkie talkie. There were no instructions in the box.
These are probably a waste of your money.
THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK! I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS PRIOR TO ORDERING...
All you can hear from this walkie-talkie is the noisy sound, not the voice.

I got these for my daughter on her birthday so I could actually hear what she needed from the back seat of my van. They are horrible! You cannot hear anything! I returned the first set and the second set was just as bad!

This was a nightmare! My daughter worked hard and saved her money to buy these. She FINALLY gets them and they wont even work! We took them back thinking maybe the first set was defective, and sure enough, the 2nd set didnt work either. [...]. This happened last year and I STILL hear about it from my daughter. They were both SOO very upset. :( Extrememly disapointing! Please dont buy. :(

The product did not work at all. We tried all different ranges and you just could not hear anything. My daughter and son likes them but they are completely useless.

I bought these last year for my 3 year old daughter and they did not work.
This product did not work. We bought a second set thinking the first was just defective but the second set did not work either. It is a waste of money.

My daughter liked them because they were Disney princess, but they didn't work very well. They didn't come in normal packing either so it made them difficult to wrap for under the xmas tree

Great idea for your Disney Princess fan. It's fun to teach a preschooler about walkie-talkies, but these have poor reception and the battery life was very short.
My two grandchildren were all excited when I gave these to them, then bitter disappointment when we could only hear they were on but would not carry any sound at all no matter where we were inside or out.

Very disappointed & my little Granddaughters were very upset that their surprise was a bust.
No reception at all--only static. We have not used them since Christmas when all we heard was static.

I bought the walkie-talkies for my 2 granddaughters, ages 3 and 5. The pair never worked so I returned them. They were cute and appealing, but a let-down.
Santa brought these for my 3yr old daughter last Christmas. We put in the batteries and have never heard anything other than static. She'll bring them to me every so often and I have to explain that they don't work.
I've purchased these twice and they never worked. I don't know why they are still advertised as transmitting.

All you hear is static. We returned product. Huge disappointment for our kids at Christmas.
What a disappointment these were for our kids on Christmas morning! My husband and I should have tested these prior to Santa's arrival. There is so much static that you can't hear anything on either end, even at the minimum distance. Please don't buy. There are much better brands available.

They just didn't work. So much static, they were useless. Too bad, because they are a cute idea.

One of the Walkie-Talkies was broken right out of the box. I was unable to give as a Christmas present as I had wanted. Walkie- Talkies would have been no fun with only one functioning.
The walkie talkies broke as soon as our girls started using them on Christmas morning. If it weren't for misplaced receipts we would have sent them back.

My daughter is into everything Disney Princesses. That said, that's the only thing going for these walkie-talkies. There is a lot of static that one barely hears the other person talking. Had a hard time hearing each other indoors (not even 150ft), I doubt it'll work any better outdoors.

I normally love all of the Lillian Vernon products. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in this one. These simply did not work.
HAD TO SEND PRODUCT BACK ONCE, NEW ONES STILL DO NOT WORK WELL ENOUGH TO HEAR FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER.

I was very disappionted with these radios. They did not work right out of the box. Tried 2 different sets of new batteries. They had lot of static and they were difficult for my 4 year old to use. The shipping back was almost half the price of the radio's so i just threw them out. Would not recommend you buy...
These did not work. You can't talk to one another and you can't hear the person at the other end. Very disapointed.
We had thought we would let our grandaughters use this to communicate around the house & outside, but they failed to work properly & we tossed them. You couldn't hear from one unit to the other!

A lot of static. Doesn't really work.
Ordered this product for my two daughters for Christmas 2006. It hasn't worked from day one! We thought it was interference with various signals, however, we ended up giving up on trying to use it. My daughters were very disappointed! I can't believe this product is still on the market.
I was very disappointed when my two daughters opened these on Christmas morning and tried to use them. They did not work at all. The only sound coming from them was static.
My 4 year old daughter really enjoys these. Unlike the rest of the reviews, we do not have much static with our set. The only draw back is that she has a difficult time understanding how they work, but with a little help, she does fine.
Ordered one set and it didn't work - couldn't hear the other person clearly. Sent it back and got a replacement - it didn't work either for the same reason. Don't waste your time or money ordering this product.

Total disappointment. All you hear is static....both our granddaughters were very unhappy when they didn't work.

I bought these for my 5 yr old daughter and they were terrible, ALL STATIC!!!!
These were very disappointing to my grandchilren. We never did get them to really work.
I actually returned my first set and got a new set and ended up returning those as well. The sound quality was horrible. You could not even hear on one of them. Lots of static. I was very unhappy with them.

We purchased these very cute walkie-talkies for our 4-year-old to use with her friends and with her father and me. She was very excited about them, bu disappointed because we could never get them to give a clear signal, no matter how close range we were.

I bought two sets of these as Christmas gifts for my 5 year old granddaughters. Neither set would work. [...] They were junk! I was left with 2 disappointed granddaughters.
My little cousins just loved this gift. They run around the house playing with these walkie talkies. I would buy them again.

X-Mas morning the kids were thrilled when they opened the walkie talkies. Even though they could not figure out how to use them with out help they played all day with them. They still use them (not correctly) all the time.

These are very cute. They did not very well at all. You nearly had to be standing in the same room as the person on the other end which pretty much defeats the purpose. I gave these as a gift and was rather embarassed as I watched the frustration of the kids grow.

It's a shame these really cute walkie-talkies do not fulfill their purpose. They are basically a cute prop.
We purchased the package of two walkie talkies last fall and I packed them away to give to my daughters for Christmas. My husband and I couldn't wait. They opened the box and they were so excited to see 'Princesses.' We put in the batteries and all we got was static. That's it, just static. We changed batteries, still static. They were put back in the box and have been sitting in my home office ever since. Not even worth the time and money to try to return them after all this time. What a waste of money. I would NOT recommend this "toy" to anyone.

Bought for my grandchildren last Christmas. With all the activity the box was thrown away before the adults determined they didn't work, thus unable to return. Numerous attempts to fix, but no one could get to work.
These were so cute, but totally frustrating to my grandaughters because of the static noise we picked up everywhere we tried them. Too bad.

The advertisement says the range outdoors is 150 feet!! If any purchaser got ANY reception AT ALL I would really appreciate knowing that one child was not disappointed! These walkie talkies do not work; there is nothing but static. My daughter just pretends they work. Didn't have the heart to return them b/c she loves having them and pretending. DON'T BUY THESE!
My oldest granddaughter, Ysabella, can now keep up with her little sister Mia, and boss her even more!

When my daughter opened these on Christmas morning it was a big let down. You could only hear static and not the other person. Since then we've taken them outside and it becomes a little easier to hear. But, she doesn't play with them much because of the difficulty to hear the other person. But, she still likes them and that was the main goal.
Too hard to hear other person unless in the same room and then you could hear them talking better than over the walkie talkie. I sent them back.

WE PUT IN BATTERIES AND ALL WE HEARD WAS LOUD STATIC SOUND. COULD NOT HEAR VOICES OF ANYONE ON THE WALKIE TALKIES. GRANDAUGHTER WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED ON HER BIRTHDAY.

You can't hear a thing. Very dissapointing. Every other store has taken them off the shelf because they just don't work at all. DO NOT BUY!!
This product look so pretty, BUT it is of poor quality. the voices are barely audible, you mostly get just static. Waste of money. I do not recommend this product
