I bought three of the 16 piece sets last year around Christmas. Iam very pleased with the looks and quality of utilization of the pieces in serving a meal. The embossed design is just the right cream white color to stand out without being overbearing. Even though you have the brown trim on the pieces, they can definitely be mixed with other pieces you already have such as mauves,greens,orange(not my taste,but would go well),yellows. You get the idea. Also, my husband has commented on the size of the plates in this set. He says they are not "whimpy" as in some sets he has seen.
