After reading the reviews, I was skeptical. However, my son is 7 and loves this costume and the muscles. I can see where the muscle part would be a problem for the younger child. Also he likes the boot covers, and I like that they are part of the costume and won't get lost. I would recommend for an older kid. Also he is skinny!!! and the 8-10 just fits him.

neck is too small for an average size 6 1/2 year old. Had to buy elastic to make the neck closure larger. Otherwise cute costume.

My three year old begged ever since July when the costumes started coming in the catalogs. We finally ordered in Sept. and My son LOVES it. He would wear it to bed if he could. It is made a bit big and he looks a little more muscular than the above picture. He loves the mask and his lighting bolts and he looks adorable!

The costume is designed poorly. When we tried it on to make sure it fit, some of the seams began ripping immediately. The yellow belt is also very cheaply made, ripping on both sides. My son hasn't worn it for more than 5 minutes and it already needs to be sewn.

The costume is cute, and my son liked the idea and the character, but it didn't fit right. The muscle chest was too "puffy" and almost hit him in the face, and he complained that it "choked" him when the neck was tied. He has batman and superman costumes that have the muscles and they fit fine. Not sure what they did wrong here, but it should be re-patterned. Especially for that price. Go with the non-muscled version.
