Comments about Lillian Vernon Thomas The Tank Engine Costume - Child:

It took about 20 minutes to put the costume together. The straps were a tad bit too long for my 2 and 1/2 year-old but we just criss-crossed them and it was fine. We loved the costume and got so many compliments on it.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Thomas The Tank Engine Costume - Child:

So i read all the "not very favorable" reviews and decided to buy this anyway because it is way cuter than the "slip on" thomas costume. i just put it together, and it is really cute. It wasn't super-easy to put together, but I don't feel that it was that complicated either. It seems like it is going to hold up just fine, but my son hasn't put it on yet. The straps are reinforced where they connect to the outfit, so I don't see the straps "breaking" as others have mentioned- maybe a modification recently? It looks like it will be hard for him to walk in, but he is only 20 months old. We might put him in the wagon if he can't walk very well! I will try to update this after we have a chance to try it out but I feel pretty confident.

cute but falls apart

Comments about Lillian Vernon Thomas The Tank Engine Costume - Child:

My son loves the way it looks but his first time in it he tripped and ripped one off the tabs and the hole split. The face part falls off really easily. I think i am going to have to dig up the good old hot glue gun to keep this one together for my rough and tumble little boy! It is very time consuming to put it together and even harder when the whole thing is already together and then you have to put the face back on.

The costume is great for Thomas fans but it's just not sturdy enough. A couple of tabs broke and the costume fell apart easily when we were out Trick or Treating. My son loves it but got very frustrated wearing it.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Thomas The Tank Engine Costume - Child:

I bought this costume in August 2005 for my son and he LOVED it! He also received a lot of compliments on his costume. Yes, it was a little time consuming to put together but it was his costume for Halloween 2005 and 2006 AND he played with it the entire year too. There were a couple of tab holes that had ripped so we put it away last Halloween so that we have it as a backup costume for this year.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Thomas The Tank Engine Costume - Child:

This is being used by a younger generation and it is just is not durable enough. It comes apart while he is walking. Of course he loves to play with it but for the price it should hold up better than it does. I think I may have to try and glue it together. Please let me know if you guys have any better suggestions. Thanks!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Thomas The Tank Engine Costume - Child:

you have to put it together, which was time consuming. I thought my son would want to help but he got inpatient. It doesn't stay together very good. I will have to tape it together and I actually ripped one of the tabs when I was trying to put it together. I would just buy the other one that is all in one and just slips on you. No Pieces.
