Again...the stand was useless and broke immediately. The jaw hinge broke and hanging cord broke out a top of its head (fixed both sucessfully with Gorilla Glue). Liked that it was lightweight, easy to get back into box, had a great presentation...lots of compliments. Put out for Halloween but had to rescue from rain. This guy cannot be left out in weather.

Used it in our drive way - "strung" him up between 2 trees, had a blue light behind him and a strobe light pointed at him from the front AND he was a great hit at our Halloween party.

We've used our skeleton (nicknamed Abigail) for two years now and she looks great. The stand is cheap and a leg broke off of it, so we duct taped the center post of the stand to a piece of rebar driven into the ground. We live in Central Florida and she's stood up to windy and rainy conditions. We plan to get a witch for next year.

It is a bit flimsy and papery, but he floated above my graveyard (via my haunted trellis) great. I like how light weight he is and he seems to hold up well as an outdoor decoration. If you want an easy "ghost" floating somewhere hung up he's great!!

Still startles us

We put it up inside since it rains a lot here. It is hanging in the corner window and still startles us when we turn the corner. We'll put it outside on Halloween and it will look great.

Outdoors does not mean outdoors!
By divine designerVerified Reviewer from NJ on 10/18/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Easy to Secure, Visible at a Distance
Cons:
Calls for"protected area", Head detached out of box, Not truly "outdoors", Poorly constructed
Describe Yourself:
A divine designer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This guy looks amazing for the price. But, the information that comes with him specifies that he should be put in a covered area. To me, that means he is not truly an outdoor decoration. Additionally, as noted, all I did was handle his skull and it started to detach from it's styrofoam neck/chest piece. I am disappointed with it's construction. Handled carefully, it may last a while.

OK for the money
By Love a good scare from Near Sacramento on 10/18/2007

Bought this last season. Stand broke when setting up this year - not sure how I'll set it up now. The netting and paper clothes are ripping but otherwise the piece is holding up fairly well. We keep it indoors until Halloween, it will not stand up to wind. Still scares my husband when he sees the siloutte.

I hung up w/ fishing line between two trees. I read reviews that said it didn't stand up to the weather but mine was out in a down pour and high winds and it held up fine. Looks so awesome in our mock graveyard. Everyone is commenting on our decorations and I think this just makes it perfect.

Can not be used where it might get wet. Made of paper so it will not last long. Stand is not well made. Scary but not worth the money.

I paid [$] last year for the skeleton & stand which the stand instantly broke when i tried to setup the skeleton. I love the skeleton, however for [$] it's just not worth the price. So I hung the skeleton from a tree limb & then put a strobe light on it to make it look scary. I did get a lot of compliments on it.

Grim Reaper pretty grim
By Pitiful Grime ReaperVerified Purchaser from Beach Park, IL on 10/3/2007

Visible at a Distance
Cons:
Bends/Blows Away, Deteriorates/Rots
Best Uses:

One of the legs to the tripod stand broke before we placed it outside. Poor design and quality. We have been rigging alternative methods to secureing this in the yard. Also, several of the strips of clothing of pulled off with very little effort. I don't see this lasting any longer than this year. High winds of fall weather will surely do this guy in.

I secured the guy in my "graveyard" with a fence post for added strengh. I would not have bought the tripod if I had read the reviews. The tripod really is for an indoor use only. The black was a little dissapointing, I would have prefered cloth instead of the paper material. He is holding up well and very spooky outside. BUT we haven't had any "bad" weather, just wind. I will be bringing him inside for the rainstorms after ready other reviews just to be safe. I agree with the other comments about the chain. The one I bought was too heavy for his arms so I draped it around him.

I think this is awesome! No, it's not a high- end piece, but it also doesn't have a high-end price. The face & ribs are made of a hard molded styrofoam so you have to be careful of damaging it. The hands are a molded plastic. Would have preferred the face & ribs to be also. Arms are posable, styrofoam over wire, probably. Under garment is of a stout black paper (would have preferred cloth), and the outer garment is of a cotton netting. It truly looks, feels and acts like it's rotting away. It is not for inclement or windy weather, but could otherwise be used indoors or out. I will store him hanging in a closet (probably give myself a fright evertime I open the door) rather than shoving him back into his original box to avoid damage. I think he's awesome - especially for the price.

We have had this guy, my kids named him George, for 3 years now and he is always displayed in our frontyard in a graveyard scene.Granted, he is made of foam and material so he can break! The flowing material is great in a breeze with a background strobe and low lying fog, cant be beat!!! His arms are not that strong to hold the fake rusty chain but we drape it over the neck and hands and it is fine. We are getting a second to put up on the second floor balcony this year!

Horrible! It looks great when the sun is going down...that is if it's still standing. The slightest wind blows it over.
His gown is made of construction paper with a black cloth gauze glued on top of it.

He has no legs just a tripod stand that is as useless as the legless Reaper.

Not as good as it sounds
By WendyLeeGVerified Reviewer from Northern VA on 8/7/2007
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Flimsy, Foam like material, Hang Loop Glued on, Light weight, Many pieces cracked, NOT an outdoor decor, NOT durable
Best Uses:
INDOOR USE ONLY
Describe Yourself:
Kids LOVE Halloween, Practical
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We ordered this knowing that for the price we might get plastic. But the foam pieces were cracked in several places and an eye was damaged. Nothing a little brown poster paint would not fix if you had some laying around. If it were not such a hassle to return, would do so in a hearbeat. This is NOT an outdoor decoration. Maybe in an enclosed area but not where it will get wet or blow over. Also, life size implies there are legs - this is a head/arm decoration only with flowing material
