Comments about Lillian Vernon Hanging Stoneware Birdhouse Cottage:
This birdhouse is attractive and a very nice accent to the garden. The color is a nice blue and it comes with a long looped wire that is ready to hang on a branch or a hook. I have not seen any bird activity so far, but I bought it primarily for the decor; if birds do use it, that will just be a bonus. Its a very sturdy piece and seems well made for the money. I have not had any issues with the wooden perch so far.

I ordered this birdhouse for Christmas presents and it was a huge hit with friends. Arrived exactly as pictured. Very cute, appears quite durable and looks much more expensive than priced.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Hanging Stoneware Birdhouse Cottage:
I ordered this birdhouse for my grandparents as a gift. They are constantly telling me how much they like it and what birds have moved in to start a family. It is really made well and has great visual appeal. It would look perfect anywhere you place it outside and would even work as a cute decor item inside your home. You will not be displeased, and for the price, you simply cannot go wrong.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Hanging Stoneware Birdhouse Cottage:
I love this attractive birdhouse however, I would not recommend leaving it out during the winter because mine cracked and fell apart. I ordered another one and now take it in during each winter. I also had to replace the wooden perch with my own wooden dowl (which was easy to do) after the original one fell off after several years. However, I would still recommend the pretty birdhouse. Last summer, my family and I watched five baby birds hatched inside. We were able to carefully raise the top tin roof and look inside while the mother bird was out getting more food for her babies. We watched as each bird became strong enough to fly out. We left the nest inside because we heard that sometimes birds return to the nest the following year. This spring it appears that both male and female birds have been investigating the birdhouse! We can't wait to see if new eggs will be hatched this year!
