If you choose this item, plan on weatherproofing with stain and varnish or paint. This was advertised as a finished weatherproof bench and planter. Not true. The planters also needed additional reinforcement.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Solid Wood Garden Benches and Planters:

I was looking for something to fill a corner in my backyard & was very pleased to find this planter bench. I assumed the planters would have bottoms but they are open-ended. Also came with unidentified pieces that are criss-crossed but nothing says what they are or where they belong.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Solid Wood Garden Benches and Planters:

I put it together very easily. Only thing I'm bummed about is that I need to seal it first before I can set it out. I'm a bit anxious to show it off. Some of the quality of the wood was not so great but that was maybe 5% of it. Great easy bench for the price! I'm glad I found this great deal!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Solid Wood Garden Benches and Planters:

I have seen this bench for quite a bit more money,
I expected it to be inferior quality for the price.
I was wrong, it is a wonderful addition to my balcony, fitting the corner perfectly,it is very sturdy-more so with the plants weighing it down.
Also it was VERY easy to put together.
I purchased the 2 planter 1 bench for my front door and stained it, very nice.
I would highly recommend it.

[...], it was very easy to assemble and I had it up in about 15 minutes. I had to stabelize it with a few bricks in the planters, but it's gorgeous and adds 4 extra seats and flowers to an otherwise useless corner. Very satisfied!!!

Comments about Lillian Vernon Solid Wood Garden Benches and Planters:

The light wood boxes looked too contemporary for my yard so I stained them along with the bench seat.Sets up quite easily.I needed to place a pot in each planter box turned upside down. Otherwise it would be too deep to place my potted fern plants on top. Very satisfied with the product [...]

We've had this for 3 years. After the first year, we added some poly to it. The next year, we added Glue and painted it white. It is holding up great now. I love it and know it holds at least 200 lbs at a time on one bench. Was actually checking this out to pick up another set.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Solid Wood Garden Benches and Planters:

This is priced about 40% less than regular stores, it was very easy to assemble, but its a little flimsy - im afraid if someone over 130 pound sits on the bench it will break- but we'll see!
