This bowl is great! I have used it as a fruit bowl in the kitchen, serveware for a bbq, and even had meatballs and sauce in it for a weeknight dinner. It is a great size and very sturdy. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

If one wants to do a real watermelon boat, they can, but this is nice to have when you don't have the time to do a real one. It's light weight-good when filled with fruit. Just hope it is sturdy.

I bought this bowl several years ago and love serving cut-up fruit in it. However, it is lighter-weight than you may expect. When I inadvertently stacked some heavier things on it this past week, the bowl shattered into slivery pieces. Note that I like it enough that I am ordering myself a new one! Just be extra careful in handling, cleaning, and storing this cute serving piece. It's lightweight, like bisque; not heavy like ironstone.

I would buy this again!

Nice just not as heavy or sturdy as I thought it would be. It held up in the top rack of the dishwasher and the kids got a kid out of their watermelon being served in a watermelon bowl.

Heavy duty and shows great! We purchased this for my mom for Christmas and she loves it. I was afraid it would be cheap and flimsy, but it is really well made and holds quite a bit.
