I am so unhappy :(
By tatiVerified Reviewer from orlando, florida on 3/2/2008
Pros:
Attractive colors, Attractive Design
Cons:
Bulky, Chip easily, chips and breaks easily, Difficult To Use, Mold at the bottom, Mold difficult to remove
Best Uses:
none
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased two sets of these, one in ivory and one in sage green. The colors and design fit perfect with the tuscan/mediterranean feel of our large kitchen. Very early on, I noticed how easily they chip and break, just at the mere touch of another plate's contact. In addition and what worries me most is that each and every piece develops mold at the bottom area (where the plate/mugs are unfinished). This can brig on terrible health issues. [...] I fell in love with the way they look, but I may have to throw them out.

I'm so surprised to hear of so many unsatisfied customers. I purchased our first two sets in buttercup yellow at the outlet store in VA. We've enjoyed them for three years now. Only one has a light chip. They have been durable and hold heat well. No problems in the microwave - especially the mugs for hot tea. They are cleaned either by hand or dishwasher with no problems. We must have gotten lucky because we haven't experienced any mold problems. I plan to purchase a set of the blue to enjoye as well.

I bought 2 sets of these in ivory and 2 sets of serving bowls and platters and even when I leave them in the dishwasher overnight to dry, I still have a MAJOR MOLD problem. A lot of times I have to wash my dishes BEFORE I use them! I am extremely disappointed with my purchase. [...] I am actually considering throwing them out!

I had been holding out for the "perfect" green dishes and loved these so much I purchased two complete sets. [...]. Soon, I noticed chips each time I used them and not small chips, large disfiguring chips. It's so bad that I don't even have a complete set to use with company. Very, very disappointed.

I also had trouble with this dish set. I loved the design but since it was not properly sealed they got mold on them. Even when I tried to dry them by hand I still had the reoccuring mold problem.

I am an Amry spouse stationed in Germany. Wanted this look to go with all of the Euorpean servingware I am collecting while here. This dinnerware is awful! Chips easily and not microwaveable. If the pieces aren't COMPLETELY dry when put away, they will grow mold, mildew where they are not sealed.

We got two sets of the ivory version of this dinnerware. It's so pretty. We all like the design, and the color goes with anything. But I've never seen any dinnerware chip this easily. Doesn't matter how careful we are, it chips anyhow. I don't even put it in the dishwasher now; it inevitably came out with little chips from the water pushing the pieces against each other. We have to do it by hand. Another surprise was that the plates and bowls are so big. The plate diamter is so large that our kitchen cupboard door barely closes on one. The bowls are so big that a healthy serving size looks very small in them and we have to avoid the tendency to overfill them. The size issue would be ok if the dishes were less delicate. But overall, I am disappointed in our purchase as these looked like durable items we'd be able to enjoy using for a long time.

I bought the cream color in this old world dinnerware because I thought it was an elegant design. [...] unfortunately this product did not hold up with normal use. Pretty much any stoneware dinnerware that I have owned held up better.

I ordered two sets of the white dinnerware in this design [...] and later saw the platters. I ordered two of them and am thrilled. They are nicely sized and are a nice addition to the set.

Really nice to look at but I needed to keep my old dishes to microwave in. These chip easily and I only use them when I have company as a casual look. Otherwise I am using my old ugly plates with my family.

These are pretty, but very delicate. They chip easily. Also, they 'sweat' through the bottm rims where there is no glaze. I've got a ring on my end table now where the plate condensation leaked through.
