I hate using colanders. They just take up space in my dishwasher. So I have been looking a strainer lid for a while. I have a couple of smaller ones from other companies, and while they do work ok, they are often too small and can allow food to escape the pot.

This lid is great. It's big, so it will work with even your largest pots, and cover the whole opening. The knob allows you to hold it on top of your pot securely and drain out water quickly and easily. And when you're done, throw it in the dishwasher, and it doesn't take up any more space than a plate.

If you are using this with a Dutch Oven type pot that has 2 smaller handles rather than a regular one that has a long handle, You may not be able to use the knob to hole it against the pot. You might have to place your hand on the sides of the lid, as you hold onto the handles. In that case, your hands may get a little hot from the steam, but if you're careful, that's not really a problem.
