My daughter and I love this product. It is so much fun. She takes it everywhere. Sometimes, I see her watching TV and say let's play with your doll and case. That get's her up and moving. I know it did not come with a hanging bar, but the mom who used a shiskabob was a genius!! Thanks for the idea! Now it is better than ever. Love it!

You get what you pay for. The only problem my 5 y/o and i had was there was no way to hang up the clothes. Otherwise, it is a great little product for little girls. She loves it and we have hours of fun playing with all of the clothes and accessories.

I bought this for my daughters (6 & 4 years old) for Christmas 2008. The box that the dolls come in is very flimsy, my 4 year old accidentally stepped on it and it bent. The box does not come with a rod to hang the clothes on, it shows one in the picture. The inside of the box is all cardboard. The clothes can be hard to get on for the 4 year old, the six year old can
handle getting the clothes on. The shoes do not stay on the doll, I am sure I will be finding them all over the house. My six year old daughter really wanted it for Christmas, she told me yesterday that it is not as good as she tought it would be.

My 4 1/2year old really loves this doll/set. The outfits are cute and appeal to her. The doll is of good quality and appealing, with nice hair. My daughter is a blond, and she did comment that she wished there was a dark headed doll when we ordered one for her friend's birthday.

I like the fact that everything fits back into the box. Children this age don't hang everything up neatly, but she can keep it all together and it is light weight so she can carry it around herself. I have a 12 year old and have purchased lots of more expensive dolls and outfits; however, the quality of this doll is good for the price and we like having the variety of outfits included so we don't end up spending more for the clothes than the doll once we have it. The clothing is as durable as expected. I purchased one for my daughter's friend who is turning 5, so I have been satisfied. (We also just ordered the holiday set so my daughter's doll can have a friend.) I have not had any issues with the personalization.

    I have just one question...
By LuluVerified Reviewer from Talladega, AL on 11/21/2008

Comments about Lillian Vernon Doll-in-Trunk with 8 Outfits:

I am a grandmother and this item caught my eye for possible gifts for my two oldest granddaughters. I have learned to read reviews before ordering things in order not to be disappointed. The thing I find most interesting about this doll & clothes case is that the hanging rod is not included, so I think, "Why in the world not?" since you can clearly see the rod in the picture. Does anyone have an answer to that? Thanks, nanalu

My 3 y.o. enjoys playing with it and has carried the box to several places since it is portable and she likes taking it to places. She does need help in putting on and taking off the clothes. Actually her older sister (5 y.o.) also needs some help with this. Difficult to hang up the outfits neatly inside but that's not something young kids are good at anyway but they can stuff everything inside and close it. Also, given the small parts things can get lost (shoes, hangars). Overall for the price a good purchase and fun.

My 7 yr old actually got the one in the black box for Christmas when she was 1 or 2. She just discovered it in a box we had down in the basement and now she plays with it constantly. Her 2 1/2 yr sister also plays with it, but has some problems putting the clothes on once she gets them off. But still, they both enjoy playing with the doll and literally get along for hours when they are. I'm getting the pink box doll for my youngest for Christmas and I feel that it is a good investment for the amount of quiet that I will have in my home.

My 4-year old daughter BEGGED for this doll for months before Christmas, and I kept saying maybe. [...]. I was so tickled, I got her out and played with her myself before wrapping her up!The doll is precious. I was surprised at the lovely texture of the doll. Her skin feels so soft! Not rag doll soft, but smooth soft. Not rubbery feeling. The clothes are so much better made that most store-bought baby doll clothes. And they are adorable. It is kind of a bummer that there's no hanging bar in the case; but there are soo many clothes that I don't think they'd all fit anyway! My daughter does sometimes need a bit of help getting an outfit on; but for a small doll, I expected that a bit. I consider it less of a "problem", and more of a ploy to get me to play. The case isn't made of steel, by any means; but her 2-yr old brother hasn't destroyed it yet! She's big enough that we can find her shoes, and still small enough that she fits in my daughters doll house. Yes, I'd buy her again.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Doll-in-Trunk with 8 Outfits:

My three-year-old niece, and her twin brother, absolutely love this doll set but it's definitely a little too old for them. It's not something they can play with on their own because of all the small pieces. The small ring at the top of one side that's supposedly to hold the hangers isn't large enough to hold all of them and the hangers aren't sufficient to hold all the pieces of the outfits. However, my niece and I had many hours of fun playing with this together. She had a cold while I was visiting so it was a great quiet-time toy for her. I would recommend this set for an older child but not for three year olds as suggested in the product description.

My girls got these dolls as gifts and they are so cute. The only problem is that that is about all they're good for. The personalization makes it seem like they have something special so we keep them out on their shelves. However, my daughters cannot dress the dolls themselves and as previous reviews have mentioned there is no hang bar in the case which causes an "explosion" of sorts whenever the case is opened up. Everything is just stuffed in the box. Be prepared to sit and dress the doll yourself and to clean up all the many small pieces!!!

Three of our daughter's, ages 4,5 and 6, each received this as a gift from their grandmother. They love it! They like that their own doll's trunk has their very own name on it. They love all the clothes and being able to change their outfits over and over again. One of our girls even has a limb difference (missing hand) and she can change the dolls clothes all by herself. They love setting the trunk up like a little house, hanging the clothes on the hangers and putting their dolls to bed in the sleeping bag.
With 4 Chinese daughters, the only thing that I wish is that there was a doll available with dark hair too.

Clothes don't fit properly in trunk once they're unwrapped and on hangers. Cute doll but my daughter lost interest real fast and I had to keep track of all the pieces to it. Case is not all that sturdy either ... broke easily.

Comments about Lillian Vernon Doll-in-Trunk with 8 Outfits:

This is a horrible product, I wish I would have seen the previous costumers review. The doll it self is very cheap and very small. The clothes are not good as well - they are very hard to get on the doll. I bought this for a gift, but I will not be giving it (unfortunately I personalized it and can't return it). There is also no hang bar - it mentions that in the description, but I guess I missed that. It looks very cute and nice in the picture with the clothes hanging up, but you can't do that and all the clothing just get thrown in the box and is a complete mess. Do not buy this product, there are much better products out for little girls.

This is the cheapest and worst product I have ever ordered [...]. If it had not been personalized, I would have returned it. The girls like it but it is very difficult to dress the doll, the clothes are cheap, most of the shoes broke within 24 hours. I have two of them because I have twin 31/2 year old girls.
