We bought this for our 7yr old son, aka Spiderman. Ironically enough, his big brothers (11yrs old) were the first to play with it. My 40yr old husband has also been known to pick it up when he "thinks" no one is around! All in all, every member of our family (myself included) has had fun with this and every member has been the painless "victim." Long story short, lots of good, safe, fun for all!
