The eggs I bought in 2005/2006 are great- we LOVE them. They are the ones with the yellow egg and white duck. The others are spray painted and look terrible. Some places the paint is so faint you can barely see the design, other times you can see it but it still looks terrible. Now the STAND- straight out of the box the little ball, or leg, fell off. I put it together and the holes were too small for the eggs they are sold with. (??) I am disapointed that the Lillian Vernon I loved years ago is not the same as today. I think I just made my last purchase from this site. :(

I wish the holes were larger so I wouldn't have to constantly keep straightening the eggs. I have some I bought previously in a slightly different style that I will use instead as the holes are larger. I also had to glue the top piece back together on one and the other had a foot that had come out which I also glued.

The eggs with bunnies and other animals were not available, or else I would have ordered them. Instead, I got the flowers, hearts, and stripes set and the pearlized set. I like the pearlized set better because the colors are pastels. Some of the colors of the other set are too garish.

The eggs are smaller than I thought they would be. They are only about as tall as my thumb and not even as big around as the circle I can make with my thumb and index finger. I was expecting them to be the size of actual real eggs.

Because the eggs are small, so is the stand that can be used to display them. This stand does come apart for convenient storage, but white flecks of paint or something fell off as I was twisting the center post into the circular platform pieces. I think the platforms could crack if one turned the post too tightly. However, the posts must be tightened up enough so that the platforms don't wobble when eggs are set on them. As other reviewers have reported, the holes in the platforms are too small. The eggs don't fit far enough down into the holes so that they are stable. If they were placed little end down, they would fit better, but that looks ridiculous! The stand looks pretty, but it needs a better design to hold the eggs upright in a sturdier way. They must be balanced just so or they fall over. I would not recommend them for a coffee table or any place that could be bumped into because they will fall over. We have four cats who climb all over, so I have to put them on a windowsill or a high shelf.

I will use one set of eggs in the stand and the others in ceramic egg plates, candy dishes, or colorful Easter baskets that I have made. I would highly recommend the eggs, but I would only halfheartedly suggest getting the stand. I hope eggs with bunnies, ducks, and chicks will be available in the future. I would get them.

We purchased these a few yars ago. I never bought the stand because I can decorate with them by placing them in a basket as a decorative piece anywhere, especially as a centerpiece! My kids love them. They are an instant classic. Now when I pull them out they look through each of them recalling their favorites and I have a feeling that when they are grown they may look back and say "remember those wooden eggs at Easter?" They may even try to stake a claim on these festive eggs as me and my sister have done with old christmas decor from our childhood!

Was really excited to get the stand and the eggs,the eggs are very durable"my 4 year tested them out"and the paintings are too cute"I got the animal ones"the only problem is the eggs tip really easily once in the stand so I put it up so one will brother with it.Looks great in my kitchen with a yellow hardbound cook book under it!

I've bought two each of these sets for the last few years because I thought they were cute. The unexpected benefit however, was that they are very child-friendly (though I wouldn't recommend letting them chew/suck on them) and impossible to break!
We use these at our house to teach matching and counting. My kids spend tons of time transferring them from one basket to the other and playing "store" with them.
Beautiful, practical, economical and unique. How can you go wrong?

I bought several dozen painted eggs - really cute. I did get a couple of eggs with the paint peeling off. The stand is a really great idea, but the holes need to be a little bit bigger to support the eggs properly. Eggs don't fit into the holes far enough to balance properly, so some of the eggs topple over to the side. I guess I could use double sided tape to secure them. Too inexpensive to be upset about it...

I arranged the eggs in a basket with soft multi-colored pastel silk "grass" for a centerpiece. The eggs are painted beautifully and looked fabulous in the basket. In my opinion, the stand (which apparently is no longer available) is not necessary as the eggs looked perfect in a basket. I love the look so much so that, even though Easter was last weekend, I still have the basket and eggs displayed on the coffee table.

Without the stand it's hard to display the eggs unless you just dump them in a bowl.
